When the Pagani Huayra, Prosche 918, McLaren P1 and the LaFerrari were born, the motoring world came up with the term “hypercar” to distinguish these ultra fast machines from “regular” supercars like the 458 Italia or the 12C.
The new Audi RS3, which is coming to North America for the first time, is in a similar situation. A hyper hatch that is on another level above hot hatches like the Golf R and the Honda Civic Type R.
The RS3 will sprint to 62 mph in 4.3 seconds thanks to the 2.5 liter five-cylinder turbo motor producing 362 horsepower mated to a seven-speed S tronic gearbox. With a top speed of 174 mph, this hatchback is crazy fast.
